And the birds are chirping outside the window and the breeze is warm...

Finally it appears we have begun spring! Better late then never and with all the added snowfall in April, we hopefully will have fuller rivers and lakes! Hopefully less fires as well this summer!

With the warm air blowing in so is the busy season for booths, car shows, music events and all the things I love!

This weekend will be kicked off with RAW Artists at City Hall.
I will have a booth alongside Xencs L Wing and Urban Cipher artist collective. There will be a fashion show, plenty of visual artists as well as vendors.

More about the event can be viewed here.

We have pre-sale tickets available for $15 at the link below!
If you purchase a pre-sale ticket, message me and I will enter you in a raffle to win a pair of earrings or an 8" x 10" print from me!

On Deck 8 May 3rd Missoula Montana!

This year I decided to keep with the ideas I had last year to create a deck with a more 3D feel. I used balsa wood in various thickness to create the desired affect. I very much love design work and Dia de Los Muertos and these were the two main factors in my design.

The woman was painted in washes built up until some areas were opaque. I decided to Exacto knife her out of the original circle she was painted on and placed her on a new circle to create dimension.
I really love this piece and had a blast creating it.

This deck is now available for auction online and will be open to live bids on Friday May 3rd at The Brink Gallery in Missoula, Montana for On Deck 8!
There is an original Haroshi deck available to bid on as well!

Delton Demarest was also accepted this year and has an incredible piece up for auction as well...

Check him out at DeltonDemarestArts.com for more details!

Some Recent Paintings

A few paintings I completed. I started all of these at a live painting night at Adore and Queenz Of Hip Hop except for the last painting which is older and I stopped working on because the facial proportions were completely off. I worked it best I could for the paint that was already there and decided to just finish it and call it!

I am finishing the Jay Z painting an adding a few elements I think will make it look really nice. Can't wait to see it complete!

On Deck 8!!! Missoula Montana here I come!

I am very pleased to announce I found out last week I was accepted to participate in On Deck 8! I had a blast participating and creating my deck last year and fill an immense wave of creativity waiting to be unleashed on the blank deck I should receive soon ^__^

This year Denver's Delton Demarest has also been accepted and we both anticipate making another adventure out of this show.

Montana is an amazing state and well worth the 15 hour drive to Missoula. Though this time, I am sure we are going to have a different plan of attack on Yellowstone... Maybe a hotel this time and getting out before dark (and random snow storms!)

I will have more updates on the show but if you are interested here is the link for the show:

Commission for a birthday gift

At one of my live painting nights at Adore recently, I was commissioned to paint a girl as a gift from her friends. They asked me to incorporate owls, peacock feathers and big hair and make it fantasy like some of my other work. The only catch, they needed it in 3 days, one of which was already booked up with other commitments!

I did it though! With a lot of coffee, some popcorn and not a lot of sleep, I was able to finish the piece, varnish it and wrap it with a big red bow as per their request and deliver it on time for her birthday celebration! I did not, unfortunately, get great photos of it due to timing.

This was a lot of fun to draw, paint and test how far I can go with limited time and being only the second blonde I have done and my first time doing peacock feathers.
Everyone was super happy with the piece and the gals who commissioned it were thrilled it was way better then they had hoped!

Here are some shots and the painting with the birthday girl!
